Can I park here? Tap the map, search an address, or use your
location — LegitPark reads the real curb rules (street sweeping, meters, permit zones) for
that exact spot.
What the colors mean
Red — Not safe now. A rule is active this moment (sweeping in progress, or a no-parking/tow-away window). Don't park.
Amber — there's a catch. You can park, but feed the meter or beat a coming sweeping/permit window. The card shows how long you have.
Green — no known limit. The data shows no restriction here.
Gray — no data / outside coverage. We don't have this block's rules — use the buttons to check the sign yourself.
The buttons
- 📷 Scan the sign — photograph the posted sign and we read it into a real answer.
- 👀 Look at this block — open Street View to spot the sign from the car.
- ⌖ Find safe free parking near here — ranks the safest free spots nearby.
- 🚗 I parked here — save your spot; get directions, a reminder, or share a pin.
- 💳 Pay the meter — jumps to your city's pay-by-phone app.
- 🅿️ Reserve a garage — book a nearby garage instead of risking the curb.
Where it works
Outside these cities you'll see "Outside coverage" — but Scan the sign and

Please read
- The posted sign is the law, not this app. City data can be incomplete or out of date — always check the actual sign before you leave your car.
- We don't yet cover every rule (colored curbs, driveways, hydrants, temporary or event "no parking").
- New York alternate-side is suspended on ~34 holidays a year, which we don't track.
- LegitPark never takes a payment, and this isn't legal advice or a guarantee against a ticket.
